The key features of this scene is one of the ex-students of the school confronts the head teacher about him killing another character. This shows us that sometimes even the sometimes bad things happen that will result in death and no one can take it back.
The character motivation in this scene shows us that two characters who are very much different will fight for what they believe. This also shows us that the main character wants revenge and he will get it for what the head teacher has done to another character in the film.
The camera work in this piece of the film varies. It starts off with a wide shot of the stairs but at the same time it zooms in to another part of the location in the scene. It then goes back inside and stays on a wide shot but is more focused on one character but you still can see the children marching down the stairs in the background it then zooms in on the characters face as he nods across the stairs to someone who we can't see. The scene also shows a close shot when all the children are all talking over each other and is focused on just their faces.
The scenes in this clip are in three places the first place is the staircase. The staircase has a vast amount of room with stairs leading away from it in all different directions. Some leading down and some leading up and on every landing there is another set of stairs leading somewhere else. Another setting in this scene is outside where students are going into the main doors. This shows us a door leading into the main building and the top of roofs. The third setting in the scene in the building is a hall with a vast amount of space to place all the students and teachers into the one room while all still standing up. The mise en scene in this scene is the fire and we see this at 2.52 to 2.58. They fire in this scene can symbolize the danger that is not happening yet but foreshadows potential danger or harm in the future; I know this because the colour of the fire being red symbolizes the danger and violence and harm we know this because the colour of blood is red.
The lighting in this scene changes the colours are normally quite bland and dull. Also when you are outside the only light that we can see is from the sky and when in the hall the only light is coming from the flames on the walls.
I think that the editing in this scene is good because they flow from one location to the next and it isn't all blocked.
The meaning of this scene is that even though if it wasn't someone's fault then they will be punished or questioned about what has happened and they will pay the price for it.
The use of sound in this is good. I can tell this by the music playing as the students are walking and with how silence apart from hearing them all walking in time with each other. You can also only hear one person talking this shows to us that the person who is talking and talked over the children has more authority than anyone else in the room. You can also hear them clearly and like he has projected his voice. Then you can hear the doors open behind in the hall and the other boy clearly saying what has happened. You can also hear the sound of the spells that are being blocked and shot out at them. The voices of everyone cheering shows us that they are celebrating with what has happened.
