Second Film (Jurassic World)

Jurassic World

The key features of this scene is a group of workers go to find the Indominus Rex that has escaped Jurassic World to bring it back. Not knowing how bad the Rex is they sent out a search party to find it so by the end of this scene it finds them and the men and the workers who are still in the park find out that it can camouflage itself so no one will know where it is.

The character motivations in this scene you have a dinosaur that is scared of seeing people and is killing for a sport rather than just for food. The group of people who goes after it they are all scared because they don't know what it's capable of. The people are looking all around them just to see if they can actually do anything without being spotted by it.

The camera work changes in between each image being shot from close ups this is shown when you can see the Indominus Rex has just come out from hiding. The camera work also uses a wide shot when the are in the office and you can see the two main characters and the two people who are working on the computers and the other guy who are all monitoring what is going on this is a wide shot because you can see what they are all doing and what is on the computers in the background.
The camera work between 0.31 to 0.34 showed a overview of the gun men walking through the forest heading to inflict harm; they have used an overview shot for this because it's to show how many people they are and to show us that heading into dangerous territory

The setting of this is in a forest and surrounded by trees and paths to get vehicles through. The setting also consists of foot print in the mud of which animal has been there.
The lighting of this is an artificial light this can be seen by the shadows that have formed in the ground and also formed on the trees from the huge body of the Rex.The scene is also set inside in a underground office where the group in there an keep an eye on what is happening while the soldiers are outside.

I think that the editing of this scene is good because of how the effect it shows us of blood dripping onto the floor and also how you can't see the Rex but he comes out from being camouflaged in the trees. The camouflage of this scene is good because it flows through from one part of the scene to the next.

The meaning behind this scene is don't feel as though you can win everything and that you will only go looking for trouble rather than stopping it.

The use of sound in this I think is good because you can hear the roar of the Rex and while the man is speaking is at the same time. You can also hear the mans scream even though the Rex is being rather loud. When the scene starts you can hear music from when the cars come over the terrain and into the forest. You can also hear the birds chirping in the sky and above them. You can also hear the sound of the water as some of the soldiers walk through it. Above all the sounds in the forest with the bird chirping and the sound of the water you can hear the beeping sound of the Rex's tracker. From this scene you can also hear the blood dripping onto the guys arm when he is stood directly underneath the dinosaur and hear it on the skin of the guy. You can also hear the bleeping sound of the monitors for when the Rex kills them.

The mise en scene in this scene would be the guns and what we know from this is that they are heading into a dangerous situation which is why they are carrying firearms, they are using the guns so they can carry out violence towards a dangerous predator. This happens from 0.10 to 0.15 in the clip.

Third Film (Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Part 2)

The key features of this scene is one of the ex-students of the school confronts the head teacher about him killing another character. This shows us that sometimes even the sometimes bad things happen that will result in death and no one can take it back.

The character motivation in this scene shows us that two characters who are very much different will fight for what they believe. This also shows us that the main character wants revenge and he will get it for what the head teacher has done to another character in the film.

The camera work in this piece of the film varies. It starts off with a wide shot of the stairs but at the same time it zooms in to  another part of the location in the scene. It then goes back inside and stays on  a wide shot but is more focused on one character but you still can see the children marching down the stairs in the background it then zooms in on the characters face as he nods across the stairs to someone who we can't see. The scene also shows a close shot when all the children are all talking over each other and is focused on just their faces.

The scenes in this clip are in three places the first place is the staircase. The staircase has a vast amount of room with stairs leading away from it in all different directions. Some leading down and some leading up and on every landing there is another set of stairs leading somewhere else. Another setting in this scene is outside where students are going into the main doors. This shows us a door leading into the main building and the top of roofs. The third setting in the scene in the building is a hall with a vast amount of space to place all the students and teachers into the one room while all still standing up. The mise en scene in this scene is the fire and we see this at 2.52 to 2.58. They fire in this scene can symbolize the danger that is not happening yet but foreshadows potential danger or harm in the future; I know this because the colour of the fire being red symbolizes the danger and violence and harm we know this because the colour of blood is red.

The lighting in this scene changes the colours are normally quite bland and dull. Also when you are outside the only light that we can see is from the sky and when in the hall the only light is coming from the flames on the walls.

I think that the editing in this scene is good because they flow from one location to the next and it isn't all blocked.

The meaning of this scene is that even though if it wasn't someone's fault then they will be punished or questioned about what has happened and they will pay the price for it.

The use of sound in this is good. I can tell this by the music playing as the students are walking and with how silence apart from hearing them all walking in time with each other. You can also only hear one person talking this shows to us that the person who is talking and talked over the children has more authority than anyone else in the room. You can also hear them clearly and like he has projected his voice. Then you can hear the doors open behind in the hall and the other boy clearly saying what has happened. You can also hear the sound of the spells that are being blocked and shot out at them. The voices of everyone cheering shows us that they are celebrating with what has happened.

First Film (The 100)

The 100

The key features of this scene is the fight and what people think about the fight. Also the key feature is the way that some of the characters act towards the fight and what they can do to have the person they want to win. Further more it shows us that not everything is as good as it seems.

The character motivation in this scene is that two people from different clans want to fight for the right to lead there people. Also the character motivation of this scene is that the main male character isn't fighting for himself but is fighting for his mother who happens to be the queen of a different clan. Also when the lead female character says "Jus drein jus daun" which means "Blood Must Have Blood" this tells us that the lead female character has a reason to kill the Queen for wanting to get revenge for something that she has done.

The camera movement on this varies this can be shown with close ups this is shown when all you can really see the two people who are fighting faces. It also uses the depth of field because they are clearer than the background and what is behind them. The camera work also goes to an overview point where you can see the overview of the whole arena and what is actually going on between the two who are fighting and the others who are on the higher platform. It also goes into a close shot on everyone on the platform. At the beginning of the scene there is a close up shot of someone tapping a drum and all you can see is their hand until the camera goes onto a wider shot of a group of people and you can see the person also playing the drum in a wider view so we just don't just get his hand tapping the drum.

The setting of this is scene is in a vacant area with enough room for anyone to go an watch it and still enough room to fight. The setting also consists of a stage that sits the more priority and the people who are in charge more than anyone else. The colours on this clip are pretty good I can tell this by when the faces of the fighters appear darker because their faces aren't really getting into any light. The main lighting of this scene is an artificial light because of it being filed outside so the lighting of this will be from the light outside and the sun. You can also see the light by the shadows of tall buildings. The mise en scene in this scene starts of with a drum to symbolize the begging of a war or fight. I can tell this because when a war or fight is about to start then there is a drum being heard to begin a fight, the drum in this scene looks as though it has been used quite a lot because it looks old and looks as though there is different cracks all over it. Another mise en scene in this scene is the swords, the swords can symbolize the danger of what is happening and the time like medieval time that it was being held in.

The editing of this I think is good because of how well it carries from one part to another in a smooth rhythm. This is shown when it goes from one person to the next and the fight is clear and you can see everything that is happening in it.

The meaning of this is don't challenge someone and think that you will win. This is shown when the Commander kills the Queen of Azgeda and she was the one who challenged her in the first place thinking that she will take over the power of the Clans and kill all Skaikru.

The use of the sound in this is good I can tell this by the quality of the sound and the way that every word is said clear and you can hear the way that the swords clash together. The sound is quite muffled at one part because of people talking over each other and all you can hear is voices but not knowing where they are coming from and who is the one speaking this tells us that they are all in a hurry and all want to see the fight and want to be the people who can be heard over every one else and them trying to be a person with more authority. You can also hear the sound of the drum being played as if it's louder than anyone else in the arena this tells us that the person who is playing the drum has a reason to be playing it like it's a warning or a message to anyone who is near him that something bad will happen eventually. As the person on the platform you can't hear anyone else talking and all you can hear is the person on the platform talking. His voice is carried out among all the arena so that everyone can hear him this tells us that the character has more authority over anyone else in the arena and that he is respected by people who are there and he has the main reason to voice himself rather than anyone else speaking over him.
